Understanding your analytics

What pageviews, visitors and sources mean on CoreTech.

Updated September 30, 2026

Reader analytics on CoreTech is powered by Umami, a privacy-friendly, open-source analytics tool. CoreTech installs it on your hosted site automatically. It sets no cookies and collects no personal data, so you don't need a cookie banner for it.

MetricMeaning
PageviewsEach time a page on your site is opened by a person.
VisitorsDifferent people in the period, counted anonymously. IP addresses are never stored.
Top pagesYour most-read posts and pages in the chosen period.
SourcesWhere readers came from: Direct, Search, Social, Newsletter or other sites (Referrals).

Bots and other automated traffic aren't counted here, so the numbers reflect real readers. To see the bots, including AI crawlers, open Advanced analytics.

Counting starts from the day analytics was installed on your site. Numbers from a previous host aren't imported. If you remove the CoreTech analytics block from Ghost's Code injection, counting stops.
