Why won't my domain verify?

The most common DNS mistakes and how to fix them.

Updated September 30, 2026

The Domains page tells you exactly which record it can't find. These are the usual causes.

The host name was entered twice

Many registrars add your domain automatically. If you type _coretech.techpress.co as the host, it becomes _coretech.techpress.co.techpress.co. Enter just _coretech (and @ or www for the others).

An old record is still there

If your domain already had an A or CNAME record for the same host (often from a parking page or old host), delete it. Two conflicting records confuse visitors' browsers.

It hasn't spread yet

DNS updates travel around the internet gradually. Most show up within an hour; some registrars take longer. A domain you bought today can take up to a day.

Cloudflare proxy is on

If your DNS is at Cloudflare, see Using Cloudflare with CoreTech.
