Primary, alias and redirect domains
The three ways a domain can be connected.
Updated September 30, 2026
| Type | What it does | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Primary | The main address of your publication. Ghost uses it for every link. | techpress.co |
| Alias | Another address that shows the same site. | www.techpress.co |
| Redirect | Sends visitors to another address, keeping the page they asked for. | techpress.net → techpress.co |
Redirects can be 301 (permanent), which is best for search engines when a move is final, or 302 (temporary).
Each site has one primary domain. How many domains you can connect in total depends on your plan.
